Barnard College Expectations for Community Conduct
Many in the Barnard community have requested examples and explanations of community expectations flowing from the College鈥檚 policies and rules. We lay out some examples below, which we hope will provide additional clarity and confirmation of the College鈥檚 core values of inclusion鈥
Partisan Political Campaign and Lobbying Policy
Registered student clubs may engage in Partisan Political Activity and Political Campaign Activity but only off campus and without using College resources, including the College鈥檚 name/logos/marks, services, supplies, vehicles, interoffice mail, website, printers, or email accounts and without purporting to represent Barnard鈥
Campus Events and Approval Policy
An Event is any gathering, other than academic classes scheduled as part of the curriculum, that is held in a College building or outdoor space on the College campus. Events include student and other group activities that are beyond a general member鈥
Temporary Policy for Safe Campus Demonstrations
This policy applies to any demonstrations on campus (hereinafter 鈥淒emonstrations鈥), defined as a group of people coming together in an audible, nonsilent event of public expression, including for the purpose of conducting a nonsilent vigil. This policy therefore exempts Demonstrations from the鈥
Barnard College Acceptable Use Policy
Users may not use College resources to: Solicit, proselytize, or conduct political activity. Intimidate, harass, threaten, or otherwise do harm to other users including, but not limited to, doxing/doxxing, cyberbullying, creating deep fakes, cyberstalking, and non-consensual image use or impersonation.
Student Code of Conduct: Conduct Rules and Regulations - Dishonesty
FIREare required to engage in responsible social and behavioral conduct and to model good citizenship in any community. Any student or student organization found to have committed or to have attempted to commit the following misconduct is subject to the disciplinary鈥
