Case Overview

The University of New Mexico made public comments about Kirk’s death. Members of the public then called on UNM to punish the faculty. On September 24, ��ýapp�ٷ� wrote UNM, explaining that the First Amendment protects speech that others might find offensive, poorly timed, tasteless, inappropriate, hateful, or otherwise controversial. We urged UNM to protect the free speech rights of all its faculty members and students, regardless of viewpoint or content expressed.
