Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, students at Oakland University made public comments about Kirk鈥檚 death. Members of the public then called on Oakland University to punish the students. We urged Oakland University to protect the free speech rights of all its faculty members and students, regardless of viewpoint or content expressed.
