The New Kronstadt was an online magazine operating from Fall 2022 through Fall 2024 that published historical vignettes and first‑person stories to challenge the culture of self‑censorship at Haverford College. Launched as a semester‑long FIRECampus Scholars project, it grew into a sustained forum exploring the connection between free speech and social progress on campus and beyond. The title honors the 1921 Kronstadt sailors from Russian history, whose demand for “freedom of speech, press, and association” underscored how censorship empowers the powerful and stifles the powerless.
