STUDENT/FACULTY GIVEAWAY: āFree Speech Wallā Whiteboards

FIRE is celebrating to help raise awareness about this important right that all Americans share. To kick things off for this , weāre helping students and faculty celebrate with a swag giveaway!
Over the summer, FIREstaff designed mini āfree speech wallā whiteboards to encourage student expression on campus. You may have seen students across the country staging free speech wall events on campus to promote open discourse and dialogue. With institutions nationwide limiting student speech, itās more important than ever that students understand and assert their rights. The whiteboards also include an important reminder to contact FIREif you face censorship on campus.
So, how do you get your hands on these whiteboards? All you have to do is using your .edu email address, and weāll send one your way. (While supplies last.)
Once youāve received your new whiteboard in the mail, hang it up! Whether itās on the door of your dorm room or on the office door of your student group, you can use your whiteboard to start a conversation, invite students to an event thatās coming up, or educate passersby about free speech on campus.
Looking for inspiration for how to use your new whiteboard? Hereās how a few FIREstaff members are using theirs:

If youād like to take your support for free speech beyond your whiteboard, sign up to become a member of the FIREStudent Network (FSN) at thefire.org/get-involved/student-network/register! As a member, FSN staff will keep you up to speed about free speech issues on your campus, in your state, and nationally. Youāll also get important tips on how to protect and defend free speech on your campus, and be the first to know about opportunities like our undergraduate internship program, our annual summer conference, and events happening near you.
