Torch readers may have noticed some new bylines on our posts recently—that’s because our 2015 summer legal interns are here! Lindsie Trego and Zach Greenberg will be working with us for the summer, and we’re proud to have them on board.

Lindsie is a rising second-year student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is pursuing a dual J.D. and master’s degree in mass communication with a focus on First Amendment law. She spends her time serving on the boards of the Carolina Law ACLU and Carolina Law Democrats, as well as volunteering with the legal teams at Prison Policy Initiative, Triangle ArtWorks, and Legal Aid Advocates for Children’s Services. Lindsie is also a published writer of creative non-fiction dealing with issues such as abuse, mental illness, and the healing process.

Lindsie came to law school from the Pacific Northwest, where she grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, and she earned her B.A. in English and journalism from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. During college, Lindsie spent time interning with Defending Dissent Foundation as well as co-authoring socio-legal research exploring online, anonymous student speech.

We are happy to have Lindsie bring her passion and experience to the Philadelphia office this summer. Lindsie has already reported on on a First Amendment lawsuit against Valencia College, and you can expect more from her on The Torch soon.
